Yes a hotfix stone or bead can be applied using a stoning glue in exactly the same way that a non hotfix stone can

We recommend that you only use an adhesive which is specifically designed for rhinestone/jewel application especially if the item is likely to be washed.

There are two ways in which stones can be applied using hotfix. The first is with the use of an applicator tool specifically designed for rhinestone application. These tools are supplied with various size heads which can be changed according to the size of the rhinestone which you are applying. Using the tool pick up an individual rhinestone and turn the tool upside down so that you can see the underside of the rhinestone.  After approximately 8 seconds the glue on the back of the stone will start to bubble and the stone can then be placed onto the item in the place required.

They can also be applied using an iron. Using this method the stones should be placed onto the item where required, covered with a cloth and then pressed with a hot iron. Before using this method it is wise to test the item first to ensure that damage will not be caused to the materials by the heat from the iron.

A heat press can also be used to set hotfix stones.

Ensure that the item is on a firm surface and apply small dabs of glue directly to the item. These should be of a similar size or slightly smaller than the stone being applied. Leave for a few minutes to allow the glue to start to set before picking up the rhinestone and placing it firmly into place on the glue. Allow time for the glue to fully dry before moving the article or handling. To pick up the stones we recommend the use of a cocktail stick with a small amount of Beeswax or Blue Tac applied to the end or one of our "pencil pickers".

The majority of our stones are glass, acrylic and resin stones are detailed as such in the descriptions
